Healthcare and insurance has been one of the leading government discussions for years now. It’s no surprise that current Congress is still talking about healthcare reform.

According to a recent article by US News and World Report, Oklahoma could be among the most severely affected states, if the reform passes.

“. . . 22 million Americans – a population two-thirds the size of Canada’s and just a tad smaller than Australia’s – will lose health coverage by 2026. The Republican strongholds of North Carolina, Oklahoma and Florida will be hardest hit by the coverage cutbacks. More than 13 percent of North Carolina’s population will likely lose insurance coverage, the data indicate. In Oklahoma and Florida, one of every 10 residents will likely lose their insurance.”

The article goes on to discuss exactly how these changes would affect our state, and others, over the course of the next decade. It also shows a detailed list of each state’s numbers, in relation to this issue.
